Steven Paul photographs headshots, executive portraits, and brand photography for professionals and businesses throughout Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.

Based in Vancouver, Washington, Steven Paul Studio works with business owners, executives, and teams throughout
Vancouver and the greater Portland, Oregon area — from solo headshot sessions to full-day branding shoots for growing companies.

Steven served as Director of Photography on the 2017 feature film Fake News, starring Eric Roberts, John Savage, and Martin Kove, which premiered at the Brentwood & Pacific Palisades International Film Festival. His photography has also run in Inc. Magazine, illustrating a feature story on two Vancouver, WA businesses. Early in his career, one of Steven's luxury real estate photographs drew national attention, earning coverage in the Wall Street Journal, MSN, and Business Insider.

Steven's portrait work includes actors John Savage, Martin Kove, and Eric Roberts, along with the late Sheldon Reynolds, guitarist and singer for the Commodores and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group Earth, Wind & Fire. One of Steven's portraits of Reynolds was chosen by his family for his memorial service.

Every session starts with conversation, not posing instructions. That's not a style choice — it's the fastest way to get a photo that doesn't look staged. People who are laughing, talking, and forgetting the camera's there photograph better than people being told where to put their chin. The result: portraits that hold up under real scrutiny — a board deck, a press feature, a website homepage — because they look like you on your best day, not a stiff version of you.

Steven works with business leaders, founders, and teams who need imagery they can actually use, not just imagery they're relieved to have finished. Sessions are built around interaction — real conversation, real reactions — because the goal isn't a technically correct photo. It's one that makes the case for you before you say a word.

If your current photo isn't doing that work for you, [book a session] and let's build one that does.

Meet the photographer

These aren't photos you'll need to replace next year. You're walking away with images built to hold up across your website, marketing, and social media for years — an investment, not a recurring cost.

Built to Last

From wardrobe to lighting to location, every decision in the session serves one goal: images that make you look credible, not just presentable.

Every Detail Has a Purpose

We talk before the session about exactly how these photos will be used — your website, LinkedIn, press, marketing materials — so nothing is guesswork. Every session is built around getting you what you actually need, not just "good photos."
